Ancient Olympia

Ancient Olympia (Archaia Olympia) is a small town in Elis on the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece, famous for the nearby archaeological site of the same name. This site was a major Panhellenic religious sanctuary of Ancient Greece, where the Ancient Olympic Games were held every 4 Years throughout Classical Antiquity, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. Ancient Olympia is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Delphi

Deplhi in ancient times was a sacred precinct that served as the seat of Pythia, the major oracle who was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world. The Ancient Greeks considered the centre of the world to be in Delphi, marked by the stone monument known as the on-halos (navel). Delphi is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Meteora

The Meteora is a rock formation in central Greece hosting one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries. The six (of an original twenty-four) monasteries are built on immense natural pillars and hill-like rounded boulders that dominate the local area. Between the 13th and 14th century, the twenty-four monasteries were established atop the rocks. Meteora is located near the town of Kalabaka at the northwestern edge of the plain of Thessaly near the Pineos river and Pindus Mountains

Meteora is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Mycenae

Mycenae in Greece is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the country. It is located in the region of Argolis, between Argos and Nafplion. A very prosperous town in ancient times, Mycenae Greece gave its name to an entire civilization, the Mycenaean civilization, that flourished from about 1,600 to 1,000 BC.
